British Cycling welcomed the return of competitive racing in England this month, following a 4 month absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

British Cycling welcomed the return of competitive racing in England this month, following a 4 month absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The official lifting of the suspension of racing on the 1st Augst, saw the first circuit race taking place 10 days later in Helem Hempstead,

British Cycling received approval from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport for its action place for safely returning to outdoor events, so allowing racing to be re-introduced.  The plan lays out the measures that organisers need to put in place to deliver a safe, Covid-secure event, along with suggestions for new race formats and limits on field sizes.

All events for the remainder of 2020 will be non-ranking, allowing for many to take the opportunity to try out racing for the first time.
